Design and Build
For a budget smartphone, the Doogee X70 ‘s esthetics are decent, maybe too much for the price it sells. While you shouldn’t expect too much of the device in terms of overall construction quality, the Doogee is somewhat robustly built. Due to the colossal battery, it comes with a little bulk, measuring 11 m thickness-wise, but still manages to be light (167 grams).
The Doogee X70 is available in three color variants (Blue, Black and Gold) and has a finely polished plastic body with a fingerprint reader, a dual rear camera and a flash LED on the back. You will find the screen with a rectangular cut at the top, the front camera, the earpiece and a few sensors on the front. The volume adjustment keys and the power / lock / unlock button are on the right side of the device.
The 3.5 mm audio jack is at the top, while the speaker grill is at the bottom and the micro USB port.
The Doogee X70 features a 5.5-inch HD+ resolution IPS display and a density of 232 ppi. The screen is curved to the edges, which helps to hide some of the bezel of the device to the side, in addition to a more comfortable grip. While the top edge was added to give more screen space, 228 PPI I don’t really understand why Doogee left that much bezel at the bottom of the screen. The screen, however, offers decent image quality and color reproduction.
Processor, Storage & OS
A MediaTek MT6580 system-on-chip with four cores and clock speed of 1.3GHz powers the Doogee X70 alongside a Mali 400 dual-core GPU. While the device doesn’t have the capacity to handle high-end and demanding games, it will handle your day-to-day activities like surfing web pages, multitasking, social media, music and movie demands without lag. The Android 8.1 Oreo OS on this device also means you’d be able to further boost multitasking through the inherent split-screen feature of the OS.
The X70 sports 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built – in memory per storage. Removing the back cover of the device reveals a micro SD card slot that can take up to 128 GB of extra memory stick.
The back dual camera setup consists of primary 5MP and secondary 8MP 80 ° wide – angle lenses vertically aligned with an LED flash. The Doogee X70 features five shooting modes on the software side to help you capture the best moments: Mono, Blur, Professional, Panorama and FaceBeauty.
The front camera is a 5MP sensor that not only takes photos of itself, but can also be used to unlock your phone in 0.2seconds by looking at your face.
Under the hood there is a 4000mAh battery that can not be removed (with the exception of a qualified technician). The battery can easily provide up to 300 hours of standby time and 30 hours of speaking time, according to Doogee.
