Itel P32 is a new smartphone in the Itel P series known for barge batteries.
The Itel P32 succeeds the Itel P31, and even though it has improvements in other areas, its 4,000mAh battery which would normally be considered a large asset when compared with other smartphones, is a downgrade to the P31’s 5,000mAh battery offering.
Some specifications remain unchanged. There’s still 1GB of RAM onboard, with 8GB of expandable internal storage. Selfies are still being handled by a 5MP camera, and the maximum network speed you’ll have is 3G (yes, the Itel P32 sadly doesn’t support 4G LTE connections).
In other areas, however, there are massive improvements. The screen size has been bumped up to 5.5 inches with an improved display resolution, and much of the bezels on all sides have been reduced to accommodate the smartphone’s 18:9 aspect ratio. The camera count on the rear has also been increased by one, and the smartphone runs the latest software.
The Itel P32 is the best budget smartphone offerings from Itel Mobile yet, and is one of the affordable smartphones you can get at its N26,500 price in the smartphone market in Nigeria right now. Let’s see which phone company would beat that!
The ITel P32 Specs :
- Display: 5.5 inches (1440 * 720 pixel resolution, ~282 PPI pixel density, 18:9 aspect ratio).
- Software: Android 8.1 Oreo (Android Go Edition).
- Processor: Quad-Core MediaTek MT6580M chipset @1.3Ghz
- Memory: 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM.
- Camera: Front — 5MP | Rear — 5MP + 5MP dual cameras.
- Battery: 4,000mAh without fast charging.
Design & Display
The Itel P32 comes with a 5.5-inch display that’s neither too big nor too small on hands, no matter the size. There was a time when smartphones with a screen size larger than 5 inches were considered oversize, but notice that I used was there, as that time has passed. The P32 has a 18:9 aspect ratio which offers the screen real-estate of a 5.5-inch device, but the compactness of a smaller one.
Talking about compactness, the Itel P32 is surprisingly just 8.8 millimetres thick. Why is that surprising?
Because it has a 4,000mAh battery! Phones with batteries this large are known to be heavy and too thick to operate conveniently with one hand, but with the P32’s aspect ratio and slimness, one-handed operation is a breeze.
One thing its predecessor, the Itel P31 doesn’t have is a fingerprint sensor, and for those to whom this is a deal breaker, the Itel P32 doesn’t disappoint as it features a fingerprint sensor beneath its main cameras on the rear.
The Itel P32 was designed with a conscious effort to conceal the fact that it’s a budget device, as its plastic back covering could be mistaken for metal from afar. The smartphone’s charging port and microphone are located under, while the 3.5mm audio jack is on top. The antenna lines on the top and bottom add to the aesthetics of the device, and even the packaging is different and looks exquisite.
If books were judged by their covers and tech gadgets by their outward features, the Itel P32 would be an expensive high-end smartphone.
Memory & Performance
The Itel P32 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6580M processor which runs at a top speed of 1.3GHz, and it uses a Mali-400 MP2 GPU from ARM for processing graphics. It comes with 1GB of RAM for multi-tasking and has 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB with the use of an external microSD card.
These specs make a smartphone feel laggy, but thanks to the optimized Go Edition of Android running on the Itel P32, operating the smartphone is most times speedy with little or no lags.
The Itel P32 sports a dual camera setup consisting of a 5MP primary and 5MP secondary lens on the rear. Whether these offer Bokeh effects on pictures is still a myth, but you can be sure that photos wouldn’t turn out the way they would if there was a single camera there.
The phone also has a 5MP camera on the front, and like the rear camera, it has a LED flash which aids in taking bright selfies.
Battery & Connectivity
The Itel P32 packs a large 4,000mAh battery that can last for up to three days on a single charge. It also comes with four power-saving modes to help you further enhance the battery life.
You can use two micro-SIM cards at the same time on the P32, but sadly, the phone doesn’t come with 4G LTE connectivity, which isn’t a bad thing for a budget smartphone at this price.
The Itel P32 runs on the Go Edition of Android 8.1 Oreo, the latest version of the Android operating system. This ensures that you have access to the latest software features while still keeping things optimized for smooth use on your budget device.
